A big news update from the medical team of AZELO!
This month Arizona Medical Association (ArMA) took up a town hall regarding MAID and the common theme on the call was that members attending hoped that ArMA would change its stance from opposed to neutral. ArMA has been opposed since 1990, and now goes to committee to discuss.
In addition, we were very fortunate and were able to have two separate talks on MAID at the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Care which was in Phoenix this March. This is a big deal because last year this conference, which is the national academic conference for hospice and palliative care, had no talks on MAID. We were very excited to put forward best practices around clinical conversations in MAID as well as formulating a national educational agenda. The talk on clinical conversations had an estimated 400 people in attendance.
